After a magical inaugural season in 2023, the Cerritos College women's wrestling team is looking for a repeat performance. The Falcons, who won the Southwest Conference championship, 3C2A Team Dual State Championship and 3C2A Championship, opened their season with a dual against Vanguard University, who is ranked #12 in the nation among all NAIA colleges. By the end of the match, Cerritos suffered a 35-15 loss. They will now host the Cerritos Open, which will be a freestyle match. The dual against the Lions was an Olympic scoring format.

The Falcons picked up a pair of wins in competed matches, while they also received a forfeit win at 170 pounds. At 116 pounds, freshman Satira Sohal (Cypress HS) did a superb job in her match on the way to a 14-1 technical fall over Jade Cabrera. Sohal recorded a pair of takedowns to open an 8-0 lead in the first period, while an early reversal in the second period extended the lead to 10-1. She capped off the match with 55 seconds remaining in the second period with another four-point takedown.

At 170 pounds, freshman Vida Beckel (Cypress HS) needed just 1:13 to pin Abena Adu of Vanguard. Within the first 15 seconds of the match, Beckel got Adu on her back for a quick 4-0 lead and appeared to have a quick pin. The two started back in the up position before Beckel got her down once again and secured the pin. Sophomore Nile Jernigan (Corona HS), the defending state champion at 190 pounds, received a win by forfeit.
