For the second time in as many seasons, the Cerritos College women's wrestling team has captured the 3C2A Dual Meet State Championship. The Falcons, who are in their second year of existence, defeated three opponents to win the state championship. They are right back in action on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. when they host East Los Angeles in a SCWA match.

The team opened the day by defeating a group of wrestlers from other schools, 60-0 before taking on host Fresno City College in the semifinals. They won seven of the 10 matches and posted a 42-18 team score victory. The Falcons received three wins by forfeit, while the other four were by pin.

That sent them to the championships to face conference opponent Mt. San Antonio. Trailing, 13-12 after the first six matches, Cerritos earned pins in three of the final four matches to post a 36-13 victory. They defeated the Mounties, 45-9 in the championships last season.
