As the lone community college running on Saturday in the Santa Clara Bronco Invitational, the Cerritos College women's cross country team finished in 16th place with 395 team points. There were 18 four-year college and club teams competing in the invitational, with the Falcons adjusting to a course that covered 6K. The team will take a week off before running in the South Coast Conference Championships at Ken Malloy Regional Park in Harbor City on October 27.

With the longer course and 201 total runners, Megan Feitz (Fountain Valley HS) was the first Cerritos athlete to complete the course, as she placed 53rd overall in a time of 23:48.9. She was third out of a group of runners that crossed the finish line within one second of each other. It was 41 seconds before the next Falcon runner crossed the finish line, with Evelyn Mejia (Norwalk HS) touching up in 24:29.9, which put her in 84th place overall.

There was a one-minute gap before the next runner finished the race, which slipped Kimberly Ibarra (Warren HS) to 124th place with a clocking of 25:24.9, while Delilah Chavez (Lakewood HS) was right behind her with a time of 25:30.9, placing her 127th overall. The fifth Cerritos runner on the day was Lila Palmer (Long Beach Poly HS), who touched up with a 167th place time of 27:02.2.

Also running for the Falcons included Diana Perez (Norwalk HS; 27:25.7; 173rd place) and Ariel Alvarez (Firebaugh HS; 27:46.8; 180th place).
