Cerritos College sophomore guard Anthony Holliday (Norwalk HS) has made a verbal commitment to continue his education and playing career at Lamar University. An honorable mention All-South Coast Conference selection as a freshman, the 6-4 shooting guard will make the commitment final during the November signing period.

As a freshman, Holliday led the Falcons with a 13.0 scoring average, while he also drained a team-high 33 three-pointers and netted 78% (93-120) of his free throws. Additionally, Holliday led the team with a 2.5 assist averaged and also pulled down three rebounds a game. He scored a season-high 27 points against Los Angeles Trade-Tech College, which included going 5-for-6 from three-point range and also posted 26 points against Ventura College.

Lamar University is a Division I program located in Beaumont, TX, where they play in the Southland Conference. Holliday will be joining a Cardinals program that is coached by Pat Knight, son of Hall of Fame coach Bob Knight. The team will be losing three players to graduation after this season and are looking for their second straight NCAA Tournament bid.
