After going undefeated in South Coast Conference South Division play, the Cerritos College men's basketball team received both of the top awards given out at the coach's post-season meeting.

Sophomore Miles Ceballos (Crossroads HS/Ventura College), who averaged 11.7 points, 7.4 rebounds and 6.0 assists during the 10-game divisional season, was named the Most Valuable Player. He's the 16th player in school history to receive the award and first since Demetruis Thomas in 2018. Additionally, head coach Russ May was voted the division's Coach of the Year, an award he's now received four times.

Ceballos recorded a triple-double against El Camino College one game after coming one one assist shy of the feat against Rio Hondo. He recorded a season-high 23 points against Compton College, while he turned in multiple double-digit scoring (14) and rebounding (four) efforts this season.

Joining him on the 1st Team were sophomore Everett May (Los Alamitos HS) and freshman Dillon Botts (Mayfair HS), while freshman Darron Henry (Long Beach Poly HS) and sophomore Cameron McCoy (Taft HS) received honorable mention recognition.

On the year, May leads the team in scoring with a 10.5 average and has knocked down 53 three-pointers this season in spite of missing time due to injuries and illness. He knocked down six three-pointers against Cypress College on his way to a season-high 22 points and followed that with a season-high seven three-pointers for 21 points against Santa Monica College. He scored in double-figures 12 times and had a season-high seven rebounds against Los Angeles-Trade Tech.

As for Botts, he has averaged 9.6 points and 3.3 rebounds a game, which included a 22-point game against East Los Angeles College. He had scored at least nine points in 10 of the final 12 games, with seven of those in double-figures. He's also pulled down seven rebounds twice this season and dished out six assists in another game.

In the final regular season game of the year, McCoy scored 39 points against Long Beach City College, which was the most by a Falcon place since Willie Joseph scored 39 against Riverside City College. Coming off the bench in 13 of the final 15 games this year, McCoy has provided an added scoring touch by averaging 10.0 points a game on the year, and has also been strong on the boards. He scored in double-figures off the bench five times in conference play and also added a season-high 14 rebounds in the game against Long Beach. He also leads the team with a 6.8 per game rebounding average.

Henry is another player who has made an impact on a guard-heavy team, as he averaged 9.0 points, 3.2 assists and 2.2 rebounds a game. He scored a season-high 21 points against Los Angeles Harbor College and has scored in double-figures 11 times on the year. He has dished out a season-high eight assists against East Los Angeles College and had at least five assists eight times.
