After three games this season, the Cerritos College men's soccer team has still not allowed a goal. The Falcons opened the Hartnell Tournament on Friday with a 0-0 draw with the host Panthers. The game went to penalty kicks, with Cerritos coming up on the short end, but the game is still recorded as a draw. They will play their second game in the tournament on Sunday against an opponent to be determined.

Although there were no goals scored in the game, it was not without several offensive outbursts by the Falcons. In the first minute of the game, sophomore Oscar Canela (Paramount HS) saw his shot skim off the crossbar, while freshman Carlos Payeras (Lennox Academy HS) deflected wide by a Hartnell defender before it could make it on net. Right before the end of the first half, sophomore Luis Garcia (La Habra HS) took on two players and got off a powerful shot. But like Canela's attempt, it hit the crossbar.

Freshman goalkeeper Jordan Aldama (North Torrance HS) kept the game scoreless with his great save in the 60th minute and finished the day with four stops. Cerritos out-shot the Panthers, 11-4. The Falcons will also be without sophomore defender Jose Rivera (Torrance HS), who received two yellow cards, which left the team with only 10 players for the final two minutes of the game.
