As the first Cerritos College doubles team to reach the CCCAA State Championship match since 2014, the sophomore pair of Sasha Krasnov (School 106, Ukraine) and Nikita Katsnelson (Odessa Gymnasium No. 1, Ukraine) came up short in their quest for the title. Taking on the Irvine Valley College tandem of Javier Callejo Velasco and Lucas Lesoeur, the Falcon pair were defeated in straight sets, 2-6, 4-6.

Earlier in the year, Krasnov and Katsnelson handed the Lasers pair a 9-7 defeat in a team dual match.

The sophomores were the first Cerritos doubles team to reach the state championship since 2014 when Nathan Eshmade and Amadi Kagoma because the first Falcon pair to win the title. Back in 2011, Derek Siddiqui and Jony Chai also advanced to the championship match, but were defeated.

Krasnov and Katsnelson opened the morning with a 6-4, 7-5 win over Cypress College's Max Blacaneaux and Vincent Reynaud in the semifinals. It was the first win of the season over that tandem, who had defeated them in their first two previous meetings. Krasnov and Katsnelson finish the season with a 20-4 record.
