On Friday at the Santa Barbara Easter Relays, the Cerritos College men's track and field team finished in fifth place out of 13 teams. The Falcons finished with 53 team points, which was two more than the University of Colorado. Those who didn't compete in Santa Barbara were at the Cal State Long Beach Invitational, with the rest of the team joining them for the second day of the invitational.

The team performed well in the field events, with freshman Jorge Gonzalez (Ventura HS) taking second place in the shot put with his distance of 13.82 meters, while his discus throw of 42.85 earned him a fifth place on the day. In the hammer, sophomore Aladdin Abuhadba (Downey HS) took seventh place with a distance of 39.27 meters, while sophomore teammate Isaiah Chavez (Downey HS) was a close eighth place at 38.35 meters.

In the triple jump, sophomore David Williams (Long Beach Poly HS) came in fourth place with his best attempt at 13.00 meters, while freshman Ike Agubata had a long jump of 6.23 meters, which put him in fifth place. In the pole vault, sophomore Nicholas Mendoza (Norwalk HS) took fourth place when he cleared 4.27 meters.

In the running events, the 1600-meter relay team of Khalil Awad (Warren HS), James Penn (Mayfair HS), Aleksie Dominguez (St. Paul HS) and Jesus Mata (Western HS) posted a third place time of 3:38.25. It was a sprint to the finish line, with teammates Angel Herandez, Darion Blanding (Narbonne HS), Dakarai Guerra (Long Beach Millikan HS) and Williams crossing the finish line in 3:39.00, which put them in fourth place. Penn also ran the 800 meters and placed fifth in a time of 1:59.91, and barely edged Dominguez, who finished in 1:59.92 for sixth place.
