In their final regular season game, the Cerritos College women's soccer team saw five school records fall in their 8-0 South Coast Conference victory at El Camino College on Friday. The Falcons (19-1-0, 13-1-0) broke three team records and two individual records. The team broke the school record for most goals in a season (121), most goals in a conference season (81) and least goals allowed in a conference season (2). Individually, sophomore Ashley Anaya-Webb (Yorba Linda HS/Cal State Long Beach) added four more goals to her season total and set a new single-season record with 39 goals. It breaks the old mark of 37 goals by Monique Cisneros in 2008. As for sophomore Nayeli Requejo (Bishop Amat HS), her two penalty kick goals give her 58 career goals, which eclipes the old standard of 57 by Cisneros (2007-08). Requejo already owns the single season assist (28) and career (42) assist records.

Next up for Cerritos will be the Southern California Regional Playoffs, which will start on Saturday, November 22. In all likelihood, the Falcons will be the #2 seeded team and will host until the state championships as long as they continue to win.

It only took Anaya-Webb 17:15 to account for her first three goals of the game, while she accounted for the final goal of the game in the 68th minute. Requejo scored both of her goals on penalty kicks due to her superb speed on the edge. She converted both and she is now 12-for-12 on the season. Sophomore Carolina Ornelas (Artesia HS) scored her ninth goal of the season in the 41st minute, while freshman Esmeralda Verdugo (Ensenada BC, Mexico HS) added her 16th of the year in the 63rd minute.

Requejo and Verdugo also added a pair of assists, while sophomore Adrianna Salazar (Downey HS) and Savannah Pilovsky (Fullerton HS) combined to post the 17th shutout of the season for the Falcons. The duo was required to make just one save on the day.
