Led by a pair of divers, the Cerritos College women's swimming team placed 12th at the Pasadena Invitational on Saturday. The Falcons, who competed on only one of the two days at the invitational, finished with 72 team points, with 67 of the points coming from the team's divers. The divers will now compete in the South Coast Conference Diving Championships at El Camino College next Friday and Saturday.

Freshman Aliah Richardson (Paramount HS) won the 3-meter event when she compiled 149.10 points, while outscored the remainder of the field. Sophomore teammate Amanda Rabb (Gahr HS) took fourth place with 112.45 points. In the 1-meter event, Rabb placed sixth with 127.25 points, while Richardson finished in seventh place with 102.60 points. Freshman Ambrosia Taylor also completed and placed 10th overall.

In the swimming events, freshman Sarah Orozco (Montebello HS) came in 12th place in the 400-yard IM with a time of 5:25.97, with freshman Channon Owens (Kennedy HS) turning in a time of 5:36.80 to finish in 19th place. Orozco also competed in the 100-yard butterfly, with her time of 1:11.88 putting her in 25th place out of 65 entries.

The 200-yard medley relay team of Anna Herrera (Rowland HS), Valeria Barboza (Paramount HS), Owens and Claudia Martinez (Roosevelt HS) placed 22nd with a time of 2:11.32.
