After leading the standings after the South Coast Conference Prelims, the Cerritos College women's track and field team settled for second place after the finals. Competing at El Camino College, the Falcons finished with 242.5 team points and only trailed Mt. San Anrtonio College, who compiled 319 team points. Next up will be the Southern California Prelims, which will take place on Saturday at Cerritos College. The top six automatically advance to the SoCal Prelims if they have the SoCal minimum marks.

Highlighted by six first place finishes, the Falcons will advance 34 athletes, and both relay teams, to the Southern California Prelims.

Sophomore Alona Davis (Bellflower HS), who qualified for the SoCal Prelims back in 2019, won both the 100 meters and 200 meters, with respective times of 11.89 and 24.73, while sophomore Elena Mack (El Camino Real Charter HS) won the 400 meters with a personal best time of 56.36 after placing second in the 200 meters at 24.91.

The 4x100-meter relay team of Jasmine Soto-Castro (Schurr HS), Mack, Crystal Nguyen (Fountain Valley HS) and Davis posted a winning time of 47.36, with the foursome of Mack, Zharia Taylor (Long Beach Poly HS), Nguyen and Soto-Castro were clocked in 4:12.56, which put them in second place.

In finals events that took part during the SCC Prelims, sophomore Dimitra Vitogiannis (Downey HS) led the way, as her distance of in the hammer 45.12 meters was a personal best. She outdistanced sophomore teammate Milika Burdett (Cypress HS), who came in second place at 41.62 meters. The Falcons accounted for the fourth through sixth place finishers. In the javelin, sophomore Andrea Villalta (Norwalk HS) recorded a personal best distance of 41.21 meters to easily win the event.

Also advancing to the SoCal Prelims are triple jumpers Andrea Alvarado (Paramount HS) and Taylor, as they came in third place (11.21 meters) and fifth place (10.71 meters), respectively. The mark turned in by Alvarado was a personal best. Running for the first time in the 10,000 meters, sophomore Megan Feitz (Fountain Valley HS) finished in fourth place and was clocked in 40:48.17.
