Joining the Cerritos College track and field staff for her fourth season is Alycia Wagner. Working primarily with the pole vaulters and serving as the team’s Strength and Conditioning coach, Wagner comes in with coaching experience at the community college and four-year level. She has served as a pole vault and triple jumps assistant coach at Indiana State University, multi-event coach at Cal State Los Angeles, cross country assistant at Cal State Stanislaus and an Athletic Performance Intern at UCLA.

A four-time NCAA qualifier and three-time All-American pole vaulter at Cal State University,Stanislaus, Wagner was also a two-time CCAA Conference champion and set the school’s indoor record.

Wagner was also named to the United States Track and Field Cross Country Coaches Association All-Region and All-Academic Teams and was named CSU Stanislaus’ Female Athlete of the Year in 2011. Prior to transferring to Cal State University, Stanislaus, Wagner was a CCCAA State Qualifier in the pole vault at Cuesta College.

While finishing her degree and interning for the Sports Information Office, she began her coaching career at CSU Stanislaus coaching two seasons with the men’s and women’s cross country programs. During her tenure, both teams qualified for the NCAA Regional Meet and the women’s team qualified for the NCAA DII National Championships. At Cal State Los Angeles (2013 season) she guided decathlete Scott Hubbard to a CCAA Conference title and All-American status, while at Indiana State University (2013-14 seasons, NCAA D1), she worked with the pole vaulters and triple jumpers.

Wagner holds a USA Track & Field Level 2 Certification and USA Weightlifting Coach Certification. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from Cal State Stanislaus and earned her Master’s Degree in Sport Science at the United States Sport Academy. Wagner, 31, is married and resides in Lakewood.
