Now in her second season with the Falcon track and field program, Holly Iris works with the women’s sprinters. For the last 15 years, Iris has served as the head sprints coach at Los Alamitos High School. She has coached eight individuals who have reached the CIF State Championships, including the girl’s 400-meter and 1600-meter relay teams, where they placed sixth. Iris has also collaborated and coached the boy’s and girl’s nationally ranked 1600-meter relay teams and been a part of eight straight league championship teams (2007-15) and CIF Finals.

Iris was a four-year track athlete at Montebello High, where she was a CIF Finalist and was a member of the 400-meter relay team that set a new school record. She then competed at East Los Angeles College and was a state qualifier as a member of the 1600-meter relay team. Iris also competed in the 400-meter relays, 200 meters, 400 meters and javelin.

Iris continued her education at Pepperdine University and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Communications with a Minor in Marketing in 1989 and then a graduate degree in Physical Education in 1999.

Iris and her husband Roger reside in Huntington Beach with their three children, Leah (24), Lauren (21) and Connor (19).
