Returning home after six straight matches on the road, which spanned over a month, the Cerritos College volleyball team was defeated in five sets by visiting Los Angeles Harbor College on Thursday night. The Falcons (1-20, 1-6) took two of the first three sets, 25-21, 16-25, 25-20, but then dropped the last two sets, 19-25, 10-15 for their third five-set loss of the season. The team will close out the year with a 6:00 p.m. home match against Los Angeles Trade-Tech College.

After pulling out the third set, Cerritos looked to close out the match in the fourth set. They opened up a 7-4 lead early on, but surrendered five consecutive points and were never able to lead in the match the rest of the night. They got to within 17-14 after a Jody Suski (Cerritos HS) kill and then 21-18 after a kill from Nadia Arreaga (L.A.C.E.S. HS). Two Falcon attack errors aided LA Harbor, while Dennisa Andaya closed out the set for the Seahawks with a service ace.

Cerritos struggled at the start of the fifth and deciding set, with the duo of Rohyn Huss and Jade Mitchell each collecting a pair of kills for the Seahawks to help them jump out to a 5-1 lead. The Falcons could not get any closer than three points and suffered the loss.

Suski led the team with 15 kills and also added 21 digs, six assists and four service aces, with sophomore Daisy Segura (Cerritos HS) contributing 13 kills, along with a team-leading 21 assists and 27 digs. Freshman Nataly Reynoso (Pioneer HS) posted six kills, 14 digs and four assists, with six of the team's seven players recording at least one assist. Mitchell (20 kills) and Huss (16 kills) led the Seahawks.
