Cerritos College sophomore cornerback Thadd Daniels (Lynwood HS) is the first football player this season to sign a National Letter of Intent with a four-year school. Daniels, who posted 29 tackles and led the team with eight pass breakups, signed with Iowa State University, a Big-12 Conference school. The Cycolnes finished the season with a 3-9 record on the season, which included an impressive 24-0 win over the University of Texas.
Daniels (pictured, left), who missed the 2014 season with an injury, will still have three years to play his two seasons with the Cyclones. He became an important recruit for Iowa State, as they have only three cornerbacks on their roster that are on scholarship and they liked the 6-2, 200-pound size of Daniels.
In addition to his tackles, Daniels also recorded two tackles for loss, blocked two kicks and picked off a pass against Moorpark College and returned it 41 yards. He is the first of a large number of sophomores that will sign, as upwards of 25 players that are being recruited.
