Sophomore forward Kyle Geer (Bassick, CT HS) became the fourth Cerritos College men's basketball player to sign a National Letter of Intent, as he signed with Culver-Stockton (MI) College. Geer joins Jay Merriweather (Pacific (OR) University), Jamal Watson (Mississippi Valley State University), Marquise Scott (University of Antelope Valley) and Luis Medearis (Biola University) as players who have signed with four-year schools.
Geer played one season with the Falcons after spending his freshman year at Cuesta College. With Cerritos this past season, Geer averaged 8.6 points and 4.5 rebounds while converting 50% of his field goals. He posted a season-high 17 points and 14 rebounds against Los Angeles Harbor College, which was part of a six-game stretch where he scored in double-figures five times. Geer also posted 15-point games against Ventura College, East Los Angeles College and Long Beach City College.
While at Cuesta during the 2012-13 season, Geer averaged 8.5 points, 6.0 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game. He scored a season-high 24 points against Ventura College and had 18 points against Lassen College and 17 points against Moorpark College. Geer pulled down a season-high 16 rebounds against De Anza College and had 15 caroms against College of the Siskiyous. He squared off against the Falcons in the playoffs and scored 13 points with eight rebounds in a 71-67 Cerritos overtime win. In that game, Geer scored the tying basketball with eight seconds left to send the game into overtime and posted four of the team's six points in the extra period.
He will be joining a Wildcats team that went 12-19 least season and included former Cerritos player Victor Jones. They went 8-14 in the Heart of America Athletic Conference and lost in the first round of their tournament.
