Taking on competition for the first time this season, the Cerritos College wrestling team posted six wins at the Bakersfield Duals on Saturday. The Falcons (6-0) were able to split their team into two squads and defeated the host Renegades twice, as well as West Hills-Lemoore College and Moorpark College. The team will take a week off before entering the West Hills-Lemoore Tournament.

The split squad allowed the coaching staff to find out about their depth at several weight classifications. Eight of the Falcons posted 3-0 records on the day, as the team won 45 of their 60 matches.

At 125 pounds, freshman Robert Herrera (Sonora HS) won all three of his matches, with sophomore Kimo Servino (Carson HS) recording wins in all three of his 141-pound matches. Returning All-American Mario De La Torre (Temescal Canyon HS) was undefeated in his 149-pound matches, with the duo of sophomore Caoilte Drury (Westminster HS) and freshman Noah Zuniga (Trabuco Hills HS) registering wins in all three of their matches at 157 pounds.

Also undefeated on the day and going 3-0 were sophomore state tournament qualifier Trevor Thompson (Long Beach Millikan HS) and freshman Luke Campbell (South Torrance HS) at 165 pounds, with returning 285-pound All-American Kobe Pablo (Cypress HS) also going 3-0 on the day.

Four other wrestlers won their matches, as Cerritos posted a total of 21 pins in their duals.
