Competing in the Fresno Invitational at Woodward Park on Saturday morning, the Cerritos College women's cross country team finished in eighth place. The Falcons, who compiled 219 team points, were fourth out of all the Southern California schools that took part in the invitational. Next Friday, Cerritos will host the Southern California Preview Meet, which will take place at Don Knabe Regional Park.

The first three Falcon runners completed the course 1:30 apart, with freshman Grace Cervantes (Schurr HS) the first to finish with a time of 22:18.8, which put her in 48th place overall. Just :18 seconds behind her was sophomore Monica Bautista (El Rancho HS), who finished 51st overall with her clocking of 22:36.8, while the third Cerritos runner to finish the course was freshman Vanessa Garcia (Whittier HS), who crossed the finish line in 22:47.8, which was 55th out of 109 total runners.

Freshman Aileen Dominguez (La Mirada HS) and sophomore Debora Lopez-Guzman (Gahr HS) completed the team scoring by finishing :19 seconds apart. Dominguez took 60th place overall in a time of 23:18.6, while Lopez-Guzman posted a 62nd place time of 23:37.4.

Also competing for the Falcons on the day were Glenn Nance (Gardena HS; 24:59.8; 84th place) and Adrianna Martinez (California HS; 26:09.6; 94th place).
