With only four runners competing in the Highlander Invitational, which was held at the Agg Course at UC Riverside, the Cerritos College women's cross country team did not compile a team score. Needing five runners to make up a team score, the Falcons only had four entries who competed on the 6000-meter course. The team will take next week off to prepare for the South Coast Conference Championships, which will take place at Irvine Regional Park in Orange at noon on November 1.
There were 207 entries on the day, with the first Cerritos runner placing 106th place. Freshman Valeria Guerra (Warren HS) posted a time of 24:01.2 and was in the middle of a pack of seven runners that all finished within 10 seconds of each other. It was over two and a half minutes later before the next Falcon runner completed the course. Posting a time of 26:37.2 was freshman Yvonne Villaba (Los Alamitos HS), with freshman Charlotte Barrera (El Rancho HS) not too far behind and recorded a 196th place time of 27:19.7. The fourth runner on the day was freshman Xitlali Pulido (Whittier HS), as she posted a time of 27:25.1 to finish in 199th place.
