Joining the staff for his first coaching assignment, Larry Anderson comes in after a successful collegiate and professional career. After graduating from Long Beach Jordan High School, Anderson transferred to Cal State Long Beach, where he had a storied four-year career. A three-time All-Big West selection, Anderson was also named the conference’s Freshman of the Year in 2009 and selected to the All-Freshman Team. Additionally, he was named to the All-Big West Tournament as a sophomore and junior, while being voted the conference’s Defensive Player of the Year his senior season.

Over the course of his career, Anderson still holds the school record for career steals (206) and ranks third in career free throws made (406), seventh in all-time scoring (1,538 points), ninth in career rebounds (591) and 10th in career field goal percentage (.496). Anderson and the 49ers won a pair of Big West Championships, as well as the Big West Tournament title (2012), which qualified them for the NCAA Tournament, where they were defeated by the University of New Mexico, 75-68 in the First Round.

After his collegiate career came to an end, Anderson played for Aalstar of the Belgian League (2012-13) and spent a season with the Springfield Armory of the G League (2013-14). He then moved to the Finish League and spent 2018-20 playing for Kobrat and BC Nokia, while splitting the final season with a team in Israel.

Anderson, 32, earned his Bachelors degree in Communications from Cal State Long Beach in 2012.
