The Department of Athletics, located within the Division of Kinesiology at Cerritos College, offers a wide array of athletic opportunities for students at the college. Known as the Falcons, Cerritos College offers 19 intercollegiate athletic programs, as part of the California Community College Athletic Association (3C2A). Cerritos College is a large college that offers all the traditional athletic programs that students want, and are mainly part of the South Coast Conference, competing against some of the best community colleges in Southern California. Most recently, we have added women’s wrestling and women’s beach volleyball.
Commonly known as the "College of Champions", Falcon Athletics have captured 56 state championships, with 32 of them in the last 23 years, and the most baseball state championships in state history. Additionally, students at the college achieve academic success and individualized support throughout their educational journey. Most recently, student-athletes attempted and completed over 30 units annually with a average program GPA of 2.95.
Lastly, the Division of Kinesiology offers new and improving instructional and competition facilities to our students. With the recent construction of state-of-the-art weight room, fitness, gymnasium, sports medicine and team locker rooms, our facilities are second to none. Future improvements are planned for our stadium, soccer field, and baseball field.
As you can see, Falcon athletics has something to offer for all students, and the college has plenty of career options for those years after athletics. Take a look at some of our informational videos and materials. Come join us and be a Falcon.
