Competing in the Vince O'Boyle Track & Field Classic at UC Irvine this weekend, the Cerritos College women's track and field team continue to match up well against four-year colleges. The Falcons will now send multiple entries to the Southern California Heotathlon Championships, which will take place on Tuesday and Wednesday to Cerritos College. It marks the beginning of the Southern California Chamnpionships, as the top eight finishers score points that go toward to championships.
Leading the way for the Falcons over the weekend was freshman thrower Mackenzie Monson (South Torrance HS), who continued to improve in her personal best in the hammer. Monson, who owns the best mark in the state, recorded a distance of 51.62 meters on the day, which put her in sixth place in the competition. It's the third best mark on the college's all-time Top 5 list.
