In his first season as a member of the Falcon coaching staff, this is also the first coaching assignment for Malachi Hoosein. A graduate of Gahr High School, where he was named the league’s Most Valuable Player, as well as a 1st Team all-league selection as a senior after averaging 28 points a game. Hoosein, a 2nd Team All-Press Telegram Dream Team selection, was also their Team Captain for three seasons.

He transferred to Vanguard University (2013-17), and earned All-American honors while also setting the school record for most three-pointers (246). He finished his career as the school’s fourth-leading scorer (now sixth-most) with 1,256 points and ranks seventh with 472 career rebounds.

Hoosein, 26, who resides in Long Beach, earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from Vanguard University in 2019.
