From 2008-09, Jonathan Rivas was one of the best defenders in Cerritos College history, and led the team to the 2008 CCCAA State Championship. He was named NSCAA All-American as a sophomore and the South Coast Conference Defender of the Year, while also being named 1st Team all-conference both seasons. He joins the Falcon coaching staff for his first season after transferring to UC Irvine.

In addition to coaching with the Falcons, Rivas is also the coach of the Boys U11 CDA Slammers Flight 2 team and at Hosler Middle School. He currently holds a Cal South Coaching “E” License.

A product of Santa Fe High, Rivas was a 1st Team All-Del Rio League and 2nd Team All-Area pick as a senior, as well as getting voted his team’s Most Valuable Player and captain.

Rivas earned his Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences with an emphasis in Public Community and Service from UC Irvine in 2014. Rivas, 25, is single and lives in Norwalk.
