Now in his third season, Quinn Caldaron will be looking to make a return trip to the CCCAA State Champion in an effort to repeat the team’s performance in 2018. In his first season as the Cerritos College women’s tennis coach, Quinn Caldaron accomplished what no other school in California Community College tennis history has ever done. Not only did he lead the men’s team to the school’s first-ever team dual championship, he coached both the singles and doubles champion in both men and women. He also led the team to a 29-2 record and Western State Conference West Division championship. His players also won both the conference singles a doubles tournament titles. Freshman Alex Prokopchuk won the state singles title and teamed with Marcos Paulo Silvestre for the doubles championship.

Entering the 2020 season, Caldaron has compiled a 45-5 (.900) overall record, which includes a 17-1 (.944) conference record in dual matches. They went 17-3 in 2019 and won the Western State Conference East Division. They advanced to the Southern California Championship match, but suffered a 5-2 setback at the hands of eventual state champion College of the Desert. In doubles play at the CCCAA State Championships, the tandem of Arthur Toledo and Jan Simon reached the quarterfinals, while Simon advanced to the quarterfinals in singles play.

Prior to coming to Cerritos, Caldaron served as the head coach at Whittier College for two seasons and posted a 19-21 overall record, while going 8-10 in SCIAC matches, while placing fourth in the conference both years. In his second season (2016-17), they were ranked as high as #35 among Division III schools, which included wins over #24-ranked Wisconsin-Whitewater and #31-ranked Trinity (CT) University.

Caldaron is a graduate of Cal Lutheran University, where he was an NCAA Division III All-American as a senior (2005), as well as an NCAA Division III National Singles Semifinalist. As a senior, he finished seventh in the National Singles Standings and was named the SCIAC Player of the Year and won the USTA Pacific Northwest Eden Sportsmanship Award in 2001.

Caldaron's coaching experience includes spending six years at Cal Lutheran University, where he was named the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Assistant Coach of the Year in 2012 while on the men's coaching staff.  Over the course of his career, Caldaron has coached players such as Marcos Giron (Division I National Champion; ranked as high as #238 in the world) and Claire Liu (who turned pro at 15 years old and ranked #249 in the world).
