Cerritos College Swimming (2014): Competed in the 50-yard freestyle (25.35), 50-yard backstroke (31.04), 50-yard breaststroke (34.68), 100-yard backstroke (1:01.75), 200-yard backstroke (2:14.19), 500-yard freestyle (5:29.99) and 1000-yard freestyle (11:38.71)…..

Gahr HS: Selected his school’s Athlete of the Year as a senior… Earned the Captain’s Award as a senior and junior on the water polo team, while he received the Coaches Award his sophomore season and voted their Most Improved Player as a freshman… While on the swim team, he was voted the team’s Most Valuable Player as a senior and also garnered the Captain’s Award as a senior and junior… Reached the CIF finals in the 50-yard freestyle (22.80), 100-yard freestyle (49.58), 200-yard freestyle (1:55.00) and 500-yard (5:04) freestyle his senior season… Advanced to the final in the 200-yard freestyle and 500-yard freestyle his junior and sophomore year, while he was in the finals in the 100-yard freestyle as a freshman… Voted their Most Valuable Swimmer as a sophomore… Spent four years on the water polo and swimming teams…

Personal: Most memorable moments were when he scored four goals in a CIF Playoff game against La Habra High… Is working on a double-major with kinesiology… Would like to transfer to UC Santa Barbara… Aspires to be a firefighter… Hobbies include playing the drums and off-road racing… Nicknamed “Nando”… Has one sister – Kimberly (13)… Is the son of Fernando and Sandra Lua… Born in Paramount, CA on December 16, 1994…..
