Cerritos College Men’s Water Polo (2022): Named 1st Team All-South Coast Conference… Appeared in 35 games and started 32 times… Was third on the team with 60 goals, along with 38 assists and 39 steals… Had a season-high four goals against Palomar College and Saddleback College, while he scored three times in seven other games… Recorded a season-high four assists against Rio Hondo College and posted a season-high four steals against San Diego Mesa College and had three in three other games…..
Cerritos College Men’s Swimming (2023): Finished in 15th place at the 3C2A State Championships in the 100-yard butterfly and 200-yard butterfly during the season… Concluded his career with the third best 100-yard butterfly time (51.71) and fourth best 200-yard butterfly time (2:00.47) in school history… Finished second in the South Coast Conference Championships in the 200-yard butterfly, third in the 100-yard butterfly and eighth at the in the 200-yard IM (2:04.22)… Also competed in the 100-yard freestyle (51.78), 100-yard backstroke (58.37), 100-yard breaststroke (1:04.47), 200-yard freestyle (1:55.48) and 200-yard breaststroke (2:24.71) during the season…..
Cerritos College Men’s Swimming (2022): Placed 13th at the CCCAA State Championships in the 100-yard butterfly (52.11) and 200-yard butterfly (2:01.98)… His time in both races were the fourth best in school history… Also competed in the 100-yard freestyle (52.34) and 100-yard breaststroke (1:01.32), with that time being the ninth best in school history…..
Cerritos HS: Specialized in the 50-yard butterfly (24.53), 100-yard freestyle (49.5), 100-yard butterfly (57.00) and 100-yard IM… Was a two-time All-605 League selection, while he was named the team’s Most Valuable Player and captain as a senior… Reached the CIF Finals in the 100-yard butterfly as a senior… Spent four seasons on the swimming and water polo teams… Coached by former Cerritos College coach and athlete Paul Park, as well as former Falcon athlete Al Reyes…..
Personal: Most memorable moment was when he reached the league finals in both the 50-yard butterfly and 100-yard butterfly as a sophomore… Working on a minor in Liberal Arts… Would like to transfer to Cal State Long Beach… Aspires to be a rescue swimmer for the US Coast Guard… His brother Jose (22) was his teammate on the swimming team at Cerritos his freshman season… His cousin, Paul Mitre was a goalie on the USC water polo team… Hobbies include archery, surfing and skating… Nicknamed “Kobs”… Has another sibling – Easton (10)… Is the son of Jose and Natalie Hurtado… Born in Long Beach, CA on February 22, 2003…..
