Cerritos College Track & Field (2014): Qualified for the Southern California Regionals in the 10,000 meters after placing sixth in the 10,000 meters at the South Coast Conference Championships… Came in 12th place at the SoCal Regionals… Posted a personal best time of 40:29.26… Also competed in the 800 meters (2:34.66), 1500 meters (5:09.39) and 5000 meters (19:31.83)…..

Cerritos College Cross Country (2014): Came in 57th place at the CCCAA State Championships with her time of 19:44.2, while her time of 19:46.6 put her in 39th place at the Southern California Championships… Earned a ninth place finish at the South Coast Conference Championships with a time of 19:23.5 and placed fifth at the Brubaker Invitational in a time of 19:36.9… Her time of 20:53.2 put her in sixth place at the Grand Canyon Invitational and finished in 22nd place with a time of 19:37.2 at the Golden West Invitational… Earned a 32nd place finish with a clocking of 19:07.2 at the Southern California Preview Meet… Came in 13th place at the Fresno Invitational with a time of 19:33.9 and was clocked in 20:24.5 to finish in 16th place at the Mark Covert Open…..

Cerritos College Cross Country (2013): Helped the team come in fifth place at the CCCAA State Championships by finishing the course in 19:35.16 to come in 50th place overall…Also came in 60th place at the Southern California Championships with a time of 20:46.80, while her clocking of 19:36.0 led the team and put her in eighth place… Ran the UCLA Double Dual in 24:13.28 to come in 18th place and came in 16th place with a time of 19:33.57 at the Central Park Classic… Finished in seventh place at the Lou Vasquez Invitational in 19:55, while her time of 20:59.82 put her in 37th place at the SoCal Preview Meet…..

Western HS: Named the track team’s MVP as a senior, earned Scholar Athlete of the Year as a senior and sophomore, while earning the Captain’s Award… Specialized in the 1600 meters (5:33) and 3200 meters (12:15)… Garnered the Distance Runner of the Year Award her junior and freshman years… Voted the cross country team’s Most Valuable Player three seasons in a row… Came in fifth place at the Empire League Championships as a senior with a time of 19:11… Spent three seasons on the cross country and volleyball teams, as well as four years on the track and field team… While on the volleyball team, she earned 2nd Team all-league honors as a junior and was voted their Defensive Player of the Year… Helped the team advance to the CIF Semifinals after they reached the 2nd Round her sophomore season…..

Personal: Most memorable moment was when she posted her personal best time in the 1600 meters at the Orange County Track and Field Championships and when she came in fifth place at the league’s cross country championships… Would like to transfer to UC Irvine, Cal State Fullerton, Cal State Long Beach, UC San Diego or the University of San Diego… Aspires to be a pediatrician… Hobbies include running and eating… Has two siblings – Jessica (22) and Giancarlo (8)… Is the daughter of Jeronimo and Silvia Ruiz… Born in Orange, CA on October 21, 1995…..
