A member of the water polo coaching staff for the last eight seasons is Catie Tuning. Back during the 2013 season, Tuning was a member of the Falcons water polo team and was named All-American, All-State and 1st Team All-South Coast Conference. Her 94 goals on the season are the third most in a season in school history, while she also posted 38 assists and 39 steals that season. Tuning played her freshman season at the University of LaVerne, and after the Falcon season ended, she returned to play her junior and senior seasons for the Leopards and was an All-SCIAC selection. Tuning is one of three in her family to play water polo for Cerritos and then transfer to the University of LaVerne, joining Stephanie and Nicole.

While at Los Altos High, Tuning was a two-time 2nd Team All-CIF selection, while earning 1st Team All-Hacienda League recognition as a senior. She also helped her team advance to the CIF Championship game as a sophomore and was selected the team’s Most Improved Player, Freshman of the Year and earned the Coaches Award.

Tuning, 29, earned her Bachelor’s degree of the University of LaVerne in Political Science.
