For the first time all season, the Cerritos College men's basketball team had every player in uniform score, as the team rolled to a 69-45 win over visiting Mt. San Antonio College on Wednesday. The Falcons (11-5) will now host Rio Hondo College at 7:00 p.m. next Wednesday.

They started to open up a sizable lead in the first half, as freshman Justin Stephens (Gahr HS) made a pair of baskets and freshman Christian Bennett (Redondo Union HS) knocked down a three-pointer, as Cerritos turned a 17-11 lead to a 24-11 advantage with 6:36 remaining in the first half.

Playing without leading scoring Jonathan Salazar (St. John Bosco HS/New Mexico Military Institute CC), Cerritos was able to turn to everyone and received offensive production. Freshmen Taeo Thomas (Verbum Dei HS) and Gary Williams (Dominguez HS) each hit jumpers to extend the lead to 28-14, while the Falcons went into halftime holding a 33-19 advantage.

The lead swelled to 20 points (39-19) early in the second half and were able to maintain that lead for the remainder of the game.

The tandem of Bennett and sophomore Jalen Shores (Lakewood HS) each scored 12 points in the win, with Shores also adding six rebounds, three steals and a pair of assists. Sophomore Dennis Johnson (Compton HS) contributed eight points, with the bench combining for 30 points, while Thomas also posted four steals and three assists. Williams (seven points, six rebounds) and sophomore Gorden Boykins (St. Anthony HS), who had six points and four rebounds, also played well. The highlight of the night was freshman Kaden West (The Leaning Center for the Deaf, MA HS) scoring his first two points of the season to close out the scoring.
