Whittier College Track & Field (2011): Specialized in the 800 meters…..

La Serna HS: As a senior, he was named to the Whittier Daily News All-Area Team in the 800 meters after recording a personal best time of 1:53.49… Also won the Del Rio League championship in the 800 meters and was an All-CIF selection… Earned All-American honors as a member of the 1600-meter relay team… Voted his team’s Most Valuable Player as a junior and was a Whittier Daily News All-Area pick in the 800 meters… Also ran the 400 meters (52.77) and 5000 meters (15:23)… Team won the league title his sophomore season… Spent four years on the track and field team…..

Personal: Most memorable moment was when he posted his best 800 meter time at the CIF Masters Meet that gave him an automatic qualifying time to compete in the State Championships… Would like to transfer to UCLA, USC or UC Santa Barbara… His father ran a 10.6 100-meters when in high school, while his brother Andres (19) won the CIF championship in the 400 meters in 2011… Hobbies include watching movies…  Has one other sibling – Anneliese (22)… Is the son of Orlando and Patricia Vega… Born in Long Beach, CA on November 26, 1991…..
