Competing in their final invitational before the start of the South Coast Conference Prelims, the Cerritos College men's track & field team won a pair of events at their own invitational.The SCC Prelims are scheduled for April 23 at El Camino College.

In the 4x400-meter relay, the foursome of Jordan Crowdus (Cabrillo HS), Caleb Dunomes (Long Beach Poly HS), Konnor Handy (St. John Bosco HS) and Elijah Jones (Long Beach Jordan HS) turned in a time of 3:21.70 to outrun the field, while the 4x100-meter relay team turned in the fastest community college time of the day. In coming in third place overall, the quartet of Jones, Sebastian Lopez (Downey HS), Te'Quan Chatman (Fort Myers, FL HS) and  Crowdus registered a time of 42.46. They were only bested by the Calgary International Track Club and Cal State Stanislaus, which included former Falcons Jaheim Williams and Jemar Armstrong.

In the 5000 meters, Robert Guerrero (Long Beach Poly HS) finished in first place with a clicking of 15:25.33, which was over six seconds faster than the second place finisher. The field included 33 total runners, with three from four-year colleges.

Special note: Former three-time Cerritos College state champion Ameer Webb (2010-11) competed in the 100 meters and finished in first place out of 102 entries with a time of 10.35. Webb was the Indoor and Outdoor NCAA National Champion in the 200 meters at Texas A&M University in 2013. Prior to transferring, Webb won the state championship in the 200 meters as a freshman (2010) and the 100 meters and 200 meters for the Falcons in 2011. He still holds the school record for Cerritos in the 100 meters (10.16) and 200 meters (20.33). He also competed in the 2016 Rio De Janeiro Olympics in the 200 Meters and placed sixth.
