Downey HS: Won the CIF Championship in the long jump (23’ 8”) and triple jump as a senior… Was the San Gabriel Valley League champion in the long jump two years in a row and the triple jump once… Voted the team’s Most Valuable Sophomore and specialized in the high jump (6’ 4”)… While on the football team, he was a 1st Team All-CIF selection and two-time 1st Team all-league pick… Named his team’s Most Valuable Player as a senior… Helped the team win the CIF Championship as a sophomore…..
