Cerritos College Cross Country (2015): Posted a 42nd place time of 26:02.8 at the South Coast Conference Championships, while his time of 24:55.5 at the Golden West Invitational earned him a 129th place… Came in 39th place in a time of 23:35.7 at the SoCal Preview Open Meet, and placed 127th place in a time of 29:42.54 at the Mark Covert Open…..

Cerritos College Cross Country (2014): Competed in the Brubaker Invitational and came in 101st place with a time of 24:23.4, while his time of 32:12.9 at the Grand Canyon Invitational put him in 42nd place… Took 131st place at the Golden West Invitational in a time of 23:29.3 and completed the Men’s B race of the SoCal Preview Meet in 76th place with a time of 23:56.8… Posted a 137th place time of 24:42.8 at the Fresno Invitational and earned 84th place in a time of 31:00.6 at the Mark Covert Open…..

Long Beach Wilson HS: Was a member of the cross country and track and field teams for two years… Posted a personal best time of 17:29 over a three-mile course and was voted the team’s Most Valuable Player… Placed seventh at the Moore League Championships… While on the track team, he competed in the 800 meters (2:12) and 1600 meters (4:57)…..

Personal: Most memorable moment was his performance at the Moore League Championships… Would like to transfer to Cal State Long Beach and aspires to be a forensic scientist… Hobbies include playing the guitar… Has three siblings – Dianne (21), Melody (16) and Savannah (11)… Is the son of Rigoberto Yanez and Elizabeth Rivas… Born in Lynwood, CA on November 16, 1996…..
