El Rancho HS: Specialized in the discus (121’), shot put (41’) and 1600 meters (6:41)… Was a member of the track and field and cross country teams… Posted a best time of 23:05 over a three-mile course….

Personal: Most memorable moment was his performance at the Del Rio League Championships where he turned in his personal best distances… Would like to transfer to Cal State Los Angeles and aspires to teach English in Japan… Hobbies include playing video games… Nicknamed “Gio”… Has one sibling – Andrew (12)… Is the son of Giovanni and Lourdes Rubio… Born in East Los Angeles, CA on March 23, 1997…..
