Competing at the Easter Relays at Santa Barbara City College on Friday, the Cerritos College women's track and field team compiled 151.5 team points to finish in second place. The Falcons, who won four events on the day, trailed only four-year school, Westmont College, who finished with 179 team points. Those who didn't take part in Santa Barbara were competing at the Cal State Long Beach Invitational, while others will join them on the second day.

Winning a pair of events on the day was sophomore hurdler Skylin Harbin (Bishop Alemany HS/College of the Canyons), who posted the top times in the 100-meter HH (14.65) and 400-meter IH (1:05.44). Also competing for Cerritos in the high hurdles was freshman Amani Briggs (Lakewood HS), who placed fifth in 16.08, with sophomore Giselle Burgos (El Rancho HS) posting a fourth place time of 1:08.45 in the 400-meter IH.

The Falcons won two throwing events on the day, including the discus, where sophomore Crystal Rodriguez (El Rancho HS) defeated the 20-person field with a distance of 44.58 meters. As a team, Cerritos posted four of the top seven finishers, with freshman Ailinisilose Williams (Paramount HS) earning a third place finish with her toss of 41.67 meters. In the shot put, freshman Amber Hart (Narbonne HS) helped the team record six of the top 10 finishers with her first place throw of 12.52 meters, with Rodriguez in second place at 11.79 meters.

A busy day for Rodriguez also included a second place finish in the hammer with a throw of 44.43 meters, while she finished in fifth place in the javelin at 28.84 meters. Hart took fourth place in the hammer (40.70 meters), with freshman Alejandra Guzman (Long Beach Wilson HS) recording a javelin throw of 31.98 meters, which put her in second place.

In other field events, sophomore Suyan Carcedo (California HS) tied for third place in the high jump at 1.50 meters, and also came in fourth place in the long jump with a distance of 4.93 meters. Freshman pole vaulter Michelle Eschebacher (Beaverton, MI HS) cleared 2.75 meters, which earned her a third place finish.

Distance runner Bailee Wilkerson (Mayfair HS) was at the front of a tight pack of runners in the 800 meters, as her time of 2:27.29 earned her a fourth place finish, with Raquel Hernandez (Downey HS) not far behind in ninth place with her time of 2:31.94. In the 1500 meters, sophomore Adriana Velasco (Downey HS) was clocked in 4:55.18, which earned her a fourth place finish.
