Schurr HS: Was a two-time All-Almont League selection and was named the league’s Pitcher of the Year as a junior… Voted his team’s Pitcher of the Year two seasons in a row… Went 9-2 as a senior with a 1.24 ERA in 73.2 innings… Struck out 63 batters and allowed 19 walks… Also batted .333 with 27 runs scored… Bated .353 as a junior with two doubles, three triples and 14 RBI… Posted a 7-1 record with one save and a 1.40 ERA in 55 innings, while striking out 53 and walking just eight… Named his team’s Most Valuable Player as a sophomore when he batted .341 at the plate and was 3-1 with two saves and a 2.33 ERA on the mound…..
