Cerritos College Baseball (2019): Led the team with 20 appearances and started one game… Was 1-0 on the year with two saves and a 6.98 ERA in 40 innings… Posted 33 strikeouts and allowed 43 hits… Pitched 2 2/3 innings in relief to earn the save against Mt. San Antonio College and tossed three innings in relief to earn a save against Los Angeles Harbor College… His lone win of the season came against Ventura College in the last game of the season, where he tossed six innings in his only start… Struck out a season-high seven batters against El Camino College…..

St. John Bosco HS: Posted a 2.80 ERA as a senior… Earned his team’s Cy Young Award as a member of the JV team his junior and sophomore years… Went 4-1 with a 2.18 ERA as a junior and was 11-5 with a 1.02 ERA during his sophomore year…..

Personal: Most memorable moment was when he tossed a complete game shutout against Pacifica High… Would like to transfer to either Cal State Long Beach or San Diego State University… His mom played softball at Long Beach City College, while his sister Madison (22) played softball at Western New Mexico University… Has another sibling – Jake (16)… Is the son of John and Marisa Chavez… Born in Long Beach, CA on June 8, 2000…..
