From 2011-12, Vince Lobendahn served as the head coach at Lakewood High and has been coaching for 15 years. After a playing career that included a year at Glendale Community College and three seasons at the University of Utah, Lobendahn spent a year (1994) in the Arena Football League with the Albany Firebirds and one year (1995) with the St. Louis Stampede. While at the University of Utah, Lobendahn played in the Copper Bowl and Freedom Bowl. While playing at Utah, their quarterback was Mike McCoy, who is now the head coach with the San Diego Chargers.

His coaching career began at Brigham Young University as a grad assistant from 1998-99 before being named the head coach in 2004 at Centennial (NV) High for one year and then one season as the head coach at John Glenn High. His career moved on to the Cerritos Steelers from 2005-08 and then spent 2009-10 as an assistant offensive line coach at Lakewood High.

Lobendahn earned his Bachelor's degree in Sociology with an emphasis in Criminology from the University of Utah in 1993 and received his Master's degree in 1994, as well as a teaching credential in 1998. Lobendahn and his wife Michelle live in Redondo Beach and have five children, including Donne, who played for the Falcons in 2011.
