Back in 2000-01 Lloyd Wilson was the starting center for the
Cerritos College Falcons and now returns for his sixth year as the
offensive line coach after spending three years as an assistant
offensive line coach. During his playing days, he was one of the
anchors of a team that passed for a school-record 2,260 yards his
freshman year and went on to be a member of two Strawberry Bowl
championship teams. After attending Granada Hills Kennedy High,
Wilson enrolled at Cerritos College and went on to earn his
Associate of Arts degree in Humanities before accepting a
scholarship to Eastern Michigan University. While at Eastern
Michigan, Wilson was a two-year offensive lineman and went on to
earn a scholar-athlete award, as well as being named to the Top Ten
Scholar Award while serving as one of the team’s
co-captains.
Wilson went on to earn his Bachelor’s degree in the College
of Arts and Sciences with a major in communications and graduated
with a 3.21 grade point average. His first coaching assignment was
at Long Beach Wilson High, where he served as an offensive line
coach and assistant strength and conditioning coach.
Most recently, Lloyd and Shaun Wilson were married in February,
2009 and currently reside in Cypress. Wilson is also employed at
Long Beach Poly High School as a Resource Specialist.
