Joining the coaching staff for his first season is former Falcon running back Tonny Lindsey. In his lone season with the Falcons in 2013, Lindsey appeared in nine games and rushed for 260 yards on 55 carries (4.7 avg), while also catching five passes for 40 yards. After his one season, Lindsey signed with Utah State University, where he had a very successful career. He spent the 2019 year as an assistant coach at Long Beach Wilson High, where they posted a school-best 10-2 record and advanced to the 2nd Round of the CIF Division VII Playoffs.

Heading into his senior year at Utah State, Lindsey was on the Doak Walker Watch List, which honors the top running back in college football. An injury in the first game of his senior season against Wisconsin ended his season and ultimately, his collegiate career. He earned the recognition after his junior season in 2016 when he led the team in rushing (763), carries (148) and tied the team lead with six touchdowns. He rushed for over 100 yards against both Colorado State and Nevada and finished with 98 yards against Arkansas State. Also pulled in 17 passes for 123 yards.

A graduate of Long Beach Wilson High, Lindsey was a two-time 1st Team All-Moore League selection and was a 2nd Team All-CIF as a senior. He led the PAC-5 Division as a senior when he rushed for 1,429 yards with 13 touchdowns as a senior and was named his team’s Most Valuable Player.

Lindsey, 25, earned his Bachelors degree in Interdisciplinary Studies when an emphasis in Kinesiology and a minor in Health Studies from Utah State University in 2017. Lindsey is single and lives in Long Beach.
