In his second season as a member of the Cerritos College men’s soccer coaching staff, Alex Diaz started coaching as soon as his playing career ended. A product of Banning High School, Diaz was a three-time 1st Team All-Marine League selection and earned 1st Team All-CIF recognition twice. As a sophomore, he helped the Pilots to the CIF championship game. He then transferred to Los Angeles Harbor College where he spent one season with the Seahawks.

Starting in 2014, Diaz joined the coaching staff at Banning High and spent four seasons there before moving over to Lakewood High, where he has been coaching since 2017. Additionally, Diaz coached with the Kickers Futbol Club from 2014-17 and has been coaching with Pateadores since 2018.

Diaz, 27, earned his Associate of Arts degree from Los Angeles Harbor College in 2016 and resides on Long Beach.
