Cerritos Wrestling (2011): Came in eighth place at the State Championships at 133 pounds after finishing third at the Southern California Regional Championships… Posted a 22-15 record on the year… Reached the quarterfinals at the regional tournament before dropping a 5-3 decision to eventual champion Etic Orozco of West Hills College, but came back to win his final two matches to earn third place… Was 4-0 at the East Los Angeles Tournament and was 4-2 at the Lassen Tournament… Also came in sixth place at the Cuesta Tournament and posted a 4-2 mark at the Modesto Tournament and Santa Ana Tournament…..

Northwest (TX) HS:
Placed fifth in the Texas State Championships at 130 pounds as a senior after coming in sixth place at 119 pounds his junior year… Finished in the top eight at 112 pounds as a junior and sixth in the George State Championships his freshman year at 103 pounds…..


Personal:
Most memorable moment was winning his first two matches at Nationals his senior year and placing fifth at the state championships… Would like to transfer to Arizona State University… Likes to work out in his spare time… His uncle was a wrestler at Downey High… Nicknamed “Barracuda”… Has one sister – Briana (21)… Is the son of Mike and Julie Barrera… Born in Pomona, CA on September 23, 1992…..
