Downey HS: Competed at 195 pounds as a senior, placed second in the San Gabriel Valley League Championships and went 12-8 on the year… Qualified for the CIF Prelims… Placed fourth at the Clash at Bullhead at 195 pounds… Did not have a junior season due to Covid-19… Posted a 12-4 mark at 195 pounds his sophomore year and was a member of the San Gabriel Valley League championship team his freshman year… Went 5-1 at 220 pounds that season… Spent four seasons on the wrestling team…..

Personal: Most memorable moment was when he competed in the Five Counties Tournament… Hobbies include playing baseball… Would like to transfer to Cal State Long Beach… Aspires to be either an athletic trainer or an athletic director… Has one sibling – Stephen (28), who was a member of the Cerritos wrestling and baseball teams… Is the son of Stephen and Monica Chavez… Born in Inglewood, CA on August 4, 2004…..
