Mater Dei HS: Ran a leg of the CIF DII champion 400-meter relay team as a senior… Helped the team come in second place in the team scoring two years in a row at the Orange County Championships… Posted personal best times in the 100 meters (12.4) and 200 meters (25.2), while also throwing the shot put (34’ ½”)… Qualified for the CIF Prelims and Orange County Championships in the shot put… Voted the team’s Most Valuable Player and received the All-Varsity Award her junior year… While on the basketball team, she was voted their MVP as a sophomore… Spent four years on the track and field team and three seasons on the basketball team…..

Personal: Most memorable moments were winning the CIF Championship in the 400-meter relay and qualifying for the State Championships, as well as when she turned in her other personal best marks… Would like to transfer to Oregon State University and aspires to be a physician… Her uncles were on the football, soccer and basketball teams at Kennedy High and Mater Dei High, while her cousins Nylia and Najia Hudspeth were on two consecutive CCCAA State Championship teams with Cerritos and are seniors on the UNLV track and field team… Hobbies include clothes shopping and watching Netflix… Has two siblings – Leilani (10) and Nazim (8)… Is the daughter of Marcia Newell-Jones… Born in La Palma, CA on March 4, 1999…..
