Entering her second season as a member of the Cerritos College coaching staff is Grace McKenzie. Hailing from Cork, Ireland, McKenzie attended Coláiste Muire Crosshaven High in Cork, where she won multiple county, provincial and national titles for her country in the pentathlon.

A four-year athlete at McNeese State, McKenzie was an indoor track and field All-American in the pentathlon as a senior in 2019, while she was an NCAA Outdoor National Championship qualifier in the heptathlon as a junior in 2018. During the Indoor season, she finished 8th at the NCAA Championships in the pentathlon with a school and Southland Conference record 4,230 points. That total also set a new Irish National Pentathlon Record. At the SLC meet, she placed 3rd in the high jump (5-7.75), 4th as a member of the DMR (12:08.89), 5th in the long jump (18-11.25), 5th in the 60m hurdles (8.78), and 5th in the 800 meters (2:15.29). McKenzie also set a new school record in the high jump at 5-8.75 at the NCAA Championships.

Additionally, during her junior year, she won the Southland Conference Indoor championship in the pentathlon and the Outdoor championship in the heptathlon.

McKenzie, 25, earned her Bachelor’s degree in Health and Human Performance from McNeese State University in 2019 and completed her Master’s degree in Exercise Physiology in 2021 from McNeese State.
