Of the seven players who have signed National Letters of Intent so far, the Cerritos College football team has seen four of them ink with Division I schools. The latest to add his name to that list is freshman cornerback Darien Cornay, who will have three years of eligibility to play at Arizona State University.

Cornay joins linebacker Alex Bush (Texas Christian University), strong safety Elijah Walker (Kansas State University) and cornerback Brandon Ezell (San Jose State University) as Falcons who will play at a Division I school next season. Also signing with four-year schools include quarterback Nick Mitchell, who signed with NAIA school Southern Oregon University, wide receiver Landry Jones, who inked with Division II Central Washington University and offensive lineman Art Gomez, who will play at Division II East Central (OK) University. The Falcons have almost 20 others eligible to sign with four-year schools at the end of the spring semester.

Cornay was a 2nd Team all-conference selection and finished the season with 31 tackles, while leading the secondary with eight pass breakups. He was part of a secondary that included 1st Team all-conference selections Walker and Ezell, while Bush was named the conference's Defensive Player of the Year and led all of Southern California in tackles. Walker missed the final game due to an injury but still finished second on the team with 53 tackles with 3 1/2 tackles for loss, three pass breakups and an interception. Leading the team with three interceptions for 73 return yards, Ezell had 30 tackles on the year, three pass breakups and also blocked an extra point.

As for Bush, he led all of Southern California with 106 tackles, while tying for third in the state. Of those tackles, 40 of them were solo stops, including the game-winning tackle at the two-yard line to defeat College of the Canyons. He also posted 9 1/2 tackles for loss, four quarterback sacks, led the state with four forced fumbles and recovered two fumbles.

Mitchell, a bounce-back from Oregon State University, he was named 2nd Team all-conference and completed 123-of-217 passes for 1,529 yards and 10 touchdowns, and was third on the team with 325 rushing yards and four touchdowns. Gomez helped the Falcon offense rack up 2,126 passing yards and 1,972 rushing yards and average 21.3 points a game. Jones pulled in 12 passes for 109 yards, including a 26-yard TD reception against Moorpark College.
