After a quick start to the second half, the Cerritos College men's basketball team hit an offensive lull, which contributed to their 68-52 non-conference loss to visiting Allan Hancock College on Wednesday night. The Falcons (1-4) started the second half by scoring the first five point to draw to within 30-29 against the Bulldogs (2-4). But over the next 6:23, Hancock outscored the Falcons 18-3, which led to their demise on the night.

Three-pointers by Kadeem Minor, Matt Willkomm and Andre Miller helped the Bulldogs to a 48-32 lead with 11:51 remaining in the second half. During that run, the Falcons went 1-for-5 from the field with two turnovers. Cerritos turned up the heat on defense and didn't allow Allan Hancock a basket for the final 6:33, but by then the damage had been done. The Bulldogs scored their last 14 points from the free throw line, with Miller netting all 12 of his attempts and finished with a 20 points.

Sophomore guard Micah Winn (Crenshaw HS) did his best to keep the Falcons close, but connected on only 7-of-21 field goals, but added seven free throws to finish with a game-high 23 points. Cerritos was outscored, 10-0 on second chance points, while the Bulldogs outrebounded the Falcons, 45-36.

Adding 13 points and six rebounds was sophomore forward Jeff Gonzalez (Riverside Poly HS/Riverside City College), while freshman forward Earl Morgan (Dominguez HS) finished with 10 points in a losing cause.

Cerritos will compete in the Grossmont Tournament from December 5-7 and opens with a 4:00 p.m. game against West Los Angeles College.
