The Cerritos College men's swimming team finished third at the South Coast Conference Pentathlon after compiling 145.5 team points. The Falcons will now travel to Golden West College next Friday for another invitational.

Freshman Marlon Moreno (Colegio Virgen del Rosario, Venezuela HS) was the first Cerritos swimmer to finish in each of the five events, which accounted for 53 of the team's points. He also swam the anchor leg of the 200-yard medley realy team that came in third place, that added 32 more team points.

His best finish was in the 100-yard backstroke, as his time of 57.42 was over four seconds better than his season best and it earned him a third place finish overall. Sophomore Henry Rodriguez (Downey HS) was the second Falcon to finish, as he came in 15th place with a time of 1:01.33. Moreno earned a pair of seventh place finishes, and posted a season best time of 56.75 in the 100-yard butterfly, while he posted a time of 1:04.28 in the 100-yard breaststroke. Freshman Alan Pae (Kennedy HS) was right behind Moreno in the 100-yard breaststroke, as he came in eighth in 1:04.29, while Rodriguez (58.53) and freshman Randy Baldwin (Buena Park HS), who posted a time of 58.88, came in 13th and 14th places, respectively in the 100-yard butterfly.

In the 100-yard freestyle, Moreno finished in 50.70 to earn ninth place in the meet, while freshman Peter Roldan (Downey HS) came in 15th place in 51.66. It was a time of 2:09.02 that put Moreno in 13th place in the 200-yard IM, with Baldwin finishing in 15th place at 2:10.12.

In the 200-yard medley relay, the quartet of Rodriguez, Pae, sophomore Marcus Delgado (La Serna HS) and Moreno swam a strong 1:42.96 to finish in third place, which was less than a second behind Mt. San Antonio College for second place.

In the diving event, sophomore Hyo Park (Gahr HS) won the 1-meter event, with Baldwin coming in third place, while in the 3-meters, Baldwin finished sixth and Park was sevents. Park compiled 154.50 points to win the 1-meter, with Baldwin close behind with 139.90 points.
