Cerritos College Men’s Track & Field (2016): Qualified for the Southern California Prelims in the shot put and hammer after placing second at the South Coast Conference Championships in the shot put (14.05 meters) and fifth in the hammer (43.04 meters)… Also competed in the discus (37.66 meters) during the season…..

Downey HS: Named All-San Gabriel Valley League as a senior and sophomore… Voted his team’s Most Valuable Thrower his senior season… Specialized in the shot put (51’ 3”) and discus (120’)… Helped his team win the league championship as a senior and sophomore… Spent four seasons on the track and field team…..

Personal: Most memorable moment was when he turned in his personal best distance in the shot put… Would like to transfer to Wichita State University… Aspires to work in aerospace engineering… Hobbies include restoring cars and building model cars… Has one sister – Naomi (11)… Is the son of David Chavez and Mariela Medina… Born in Bellflower, CA on July 27, 1997…..
